First sighting of Mercury

I finally took the trouble to work out when and where Mercury could be seen.  This one can be tricky, as it orbits very close to the sun, and therefore is only seen in the twilight, and very near the horizon.  There is very little chance I can get a telescope view from my garden.  Nonetheless, at 6.45am this morning the view (without telescope!) was wonderful.  A clear sky, slender crescent moon, with Saturn, Venus and Mercury all strung out in a line descending into the orange morning twilight.  Well worth a look this week if there are any more clear mornings.
