Venus project

Rather pleased with my little Venus project I’ve had on the go since January.  This shows nicely that Venus moves around the sun on the ‘inside track’ from Earth.  Back in January we can see it small and distant, emerging from behind the sun, with a large portion of its lit side visible to us.  As it catches Earth up, it looms larger and larger, but ends up sandwiched between Earth and the Sun, and we see largely it’s shady side – hence the crescent.  Nice!  The crescent will continue to slim down over the coming weeks.  Alas, from my garden, Venus is disappearing behind the trees, so I think this is the final result for me.
