The moon and planets put on a spectacular show tonight whilst I was out on the patio completing my latest DIY project (a guinea pig run). Easily distracted, this looked like a good photo opportunity. The moon, Venus and Jupiter put on a lovely show at sunset, bright enough to appear through broken cloud in a fairly close triangular group. I took a couple of wider angle shots with a compact camera. Venus appears close to the moon. Jupiter top left in the second photo. The close-ups are through the telescope with the SLR directly attached. The crescent looks over exposed in the second close-up, but the shaded portion of the surface looks nice.
