Only 11 days to go until the Venus transit of June 6th 2012. This will be the last such event until 2117. My filter bits and pieces have arrived, and I’ve spent the last two evenings constructing filters. Here’s my setup in the middle of a dry run today – my first ever go at solar photography. It looks kind of makeshift but the results were way beyond my expectations and above all safe because of the specific type of filter used. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! (he says, clearly trying this at home…).
